Could it be 'tala Carlo'?

"Champions league, for me, its the best competition in the world and all teams want to win it. Five-Semi finals in six years, but now we need to win it". These were the words from Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti when he took his first interview at the club.

Despite Ancelotti's pedigree in the competition, he has failed to do that - win it, not even reaching the quater - finals in his first season. Even worse he bowed out of the competition with a loss to Hollywood wannabe Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan, rather comfortably in the end. Now... if going out of owner Abramovich's most favoured and yet not 'delivered' cup wasn't enough, he was tactically masterminded by an unfavoured predecessor of the Russian Billionaire to rub salt in the gaping wounds which now lie.

There now only seems to be one way that the Italian coach can save his bacon at the club... how? Simple. Steal the Premiership and end Manchester United' domination, this season. In failing to deliver domestically could stamp the season as a massive FAIL. Even bringing home the FA cup, they face Aston Villa in the semi-final, wouldn't be enough to heal the damages.

With one target liable to save the job, it needs to be met, no doubt. This will give Ancelotti and his well behaved captain John Terry (who may I add had to be breathalised after breaking a member of staff's leg at Chelsea after last nights defeat after reversing through the crowds in order to leave the stadium... my his having a good start too 2010 don't you think?)... a chance to finally bring home the Euro glory for the first club in London, ever, next season... well, unless Arsenal win it this year that is.

Underground or Local heroes?

For my first blog, I've chosen to share a condensed version of my interview with
local punk/ska band 'The Underground Heroes", from my hometown, Sheppey!

Undergound heroes - Joe Dollimore (drummer), Aaron Dollimore (Lead vocalist), Jak Roberts (Base) and George Penfold (Guitar).

We meet up at ‘Layzells bar’ in Minster, Sheppey, and go from there. After talking for ten minutes about what I’ve been up to and the usual ‘how have you been?’ talk, I get into my first thought. I wanted to know how two brothers from a pretty distant island managed to form a ‘promising’ indie/ska band with two boys from Chatham? Joe was first up, “Meeting came about when we were all about 16 and 17 - in a place called ‘Tap n’ Tin’ (an indie club in Chatham)”.

How did you come to being found out i asked? Joe jumped to comment, “Well, after playing regularly at ‘Tap n’ Tin’, we had a man called Rob Wise from a record company spot us, and straight away he wanted to interview us - apparently it was set up by the owner of the club, and he’d already gave him a copy of our demo”.

Now you all went on too tour in Ibiza, how was that? I asked. Aaron explained, "It was most definitely the best month of our lives, what more could you want, live music and sunshine".

I wanted to come to a close on the interview as I only had a short amount of time, which was possibly waisted on catch up with Joe. I wanted to lastly know what they want and hope for in the future, as well as there plans They all had a little something to say, so it’s better that I just sum it all up. Currently, they’re recording a full album alongside their record companies and their producers, but date wise they seem comprehensively unsure.

I say my goodbyes, shake they’re hands and say bye. “Get in touch and come watch us in Chatham”, Joe says. I oblige.

A quick welcome!

Welcome to my blog!

This blog has basically been set up as part of a Module for my Journalism Degree.
I haven't ever experience having a blog to share with others on the web, but it seems
like an all round good idea, regardless of the fact it's to aid my studies!

I hope you enjoy reading my stories and comments, as I will be publishing
through out the upcoming weeks!

Ciao!
